CHRISTMAS TREE CEREMONY AT THE WALL SET FOR DEC. 10

On Saturday, Dec. 10, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Volunteers will host the annual Christmas Tree Ceremony at The Wall.
The short ceremony will take place at 1 p.m. on the East Knoll of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. The event is free and open to the public.
The ceremony will include holiday music by the U.S. Army Brass Quintet. Volunteers will have the chance to share memories of the holidays in Vietnam, and families are encouraged to share stories of their loved ones. The public is also encouraged to speak about a special ornament or decoration they may have for the Christmas tree.
After the ceremony, the Volunteers will decorate a Christmas tree that will stand at the apex of The Wall throughout the holiday season.
Volunteers are asking the public for help in finding ornaments. Individuals, schools, and other organizations may send paper decorations, or letters in honor of those who served and sacrificed to:

It is requested that letters or cards be no more than 4” x 6” in size (about the size of a large holiday greeting card) and that it be laminated to withstand three weeks outdoors. The public may also bring them to the ceremony on Dec. 10.
The Christmas Tree Ceremony remains a beautiful tradition led by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Volunteers and remembers all who served this holiday season.
