DESCRIPTION
A CryptoParty is a free, public gathering to learn different approaches to privacy and security for your computers, mobile devices, social media, and other digital platforms. All your questions will be encouraged! Food, child friendly activities, and music curated by DJ Rat will be featured. Bring your phone or laptop, but most importantly bring yourself!
ASL and Spanish language interpretation will be available.
The presenters and co-organizers of this event are Slammer and Tania.
La CryptoParty es una reunión pública y gratuita para aprender diferentes enfoques de privacidad y seguridad para sus computadoras, teléfonos móvil, redes sociales, y otras plataformas digitales. ¡Tus preguntas serán contestadas con entusiasmo! Do I need a library card to attend this event?
You do not need a library card to attend this event. We do encourage you to sign up for one while you are at the library in order to take advantage of all that the DC Public Library offers. Library cards are free for residents of the DMV area, learn more here.

The Shaw (Watha T. Daniel) Neighborhood Library is across the street from the Shaw-Howard U Station (R St & 8th St Exit) on the Green/Yellow Line and is served by the G8/G9 and 70/79 bus routes. Very limited metered street parking is available.
What is the capacity for this event?
Due to fire code, the capacity of the Meeting Room at the Shaw (Watha T. Daniel) Neighborhood Library is 100 persons. At the event, the CryptoParty will operate on a first come, first serve basis. Please arrive early to ensure your participation. If we reach capacity, we will close our doors.
