Join Buddhists from across the DC metropolitan area, representing many different cultures and traditions, as we celebrate the Birth, Enlightenment, and Passing Away of Lord Buddha. Activities include religious ceremonies, Dharma teachings and discussion, meditation, a cultural show, and lunch provided for all attendees.
8:30 AM
Eight Precept Day for laity (come and take or renew your commitment to the 8 precepts) .
9:00 AM
Bathing infant Buddha, circumambulating the temple and flower offering by children. Come at 9 am if not taking precepts.
9:30 AM
Multi-language chanting, taking the 5 precepts, prayers and homages to the Buddha.
10:00 AM
Short dharma talk and practice led by teacher.
11:00 AM
Lunch for monastics, followed by lunch for laity.
12:30 PM
Dharma teachings and guided meditation (a separate children’s program will be offered).
1:30 PM
Dance performances and presentations from a rich variety of international Buddhist cultures.
