BPSOS-organized Vietnam Advocacy Day of 2013 brought 800 Vietnamese American community advocates from 30 states to Congress to promote community empowerment, address issues faced by our nation, and advocate for human rights and democracy in Vietnam. The day is packed with activities, including a plenary session and lunch hosted by the House Majority, a press conference, three breakout sessions with key members of Congress, a hearing on “Continuing Repression by the Vietnamese Government,” and some one hundred legislative visits with members of Congress or their staffers.
