Community Event:
The Vietnamese Student Association at the George Washington University will be holding a college preparation event for Vietnamese and other Asian Americans in the DC/MD/VA area. This event is completely free and will take place on March 9, 2014. Registration, however, is required.
The College Preparation Conference exists to aid high school students in the Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. region, with a particular interest in Vietnamese American students, be mentally and physically prepared for college. VSA aims to empower our youths by educating, guiding, and being a resource for them as they continue their academic career into college. We hope to achieve our goals through our multivariable workshops that will cover all aspects of college life, such as academic preparation, social adjustment, and financial aid. The workshops will feature guest speakers whom are all successful in their selective fields, college admission officers, and student leaders as well as a safe, open forum for prospective students to express their concerns. Moreover, there will be a few workshops for parents to support their children in making informed decisions.
We would love to see some of them registered and attending. If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at emilyluu@gwmail.gwu.edu.
Anyone is interested in sponsoring, Please contact Emmeline Ha as soon as possible. Any donation (small or large, monetary or in kind) is greatly appreciated.
