The famous festival is scheduled from March 20 to April 13. Tripedition’s tours are scheduled from now through April 15 this year. The National Park Service has announced that peak bloom (defined as when 70 percent of the blossoms are open) will be from April 8 – 12 for this year.
The 102nd Cherry Blossom Festival, celebrating the anniversary of the gift of cherry blossom trees from Japan, includes a variety of artistic and cultural events. There are parades, a kite festival and a Japanese festival held throughout the three-plus weeks.
