Sunday, April 12, from 12 to 4 p.m. the 11th Street Bridge Park and National Park Service present the first annual Anacostia River Festival, a premier free event and the official closing of the 2015 National Cherry Blossom Festival. This year’s Anacostia River Festival celebrates the natural world by focusing on the Anacostia River, its history, ecology, and the communities along its riverbanks. Activities at this free event include hands-on art projects, musical performances, boating, fishing workshops, tours of historic Anacostia, bike parades, and other unique programs to engage families with the environment. Metro
Anacostia Station (green line). Exit toward the parking garage to walk to the Festival site (approx. 7 min).
Free shuttle, courtesy of Anacostia BID, is available from both Anacostia Metro (at the Howard Rd exit) and Eastern Market Metro (orange/blue) to the Festival site.
Parking
Free Parking, courtesy of COPT, is available at Maritime Plaza (1201 M St SE, Washington, DC 20003) and Anacostia Metro Station (1101 Howard Road SE Washington, DC 20020).
Free shuttles, courtesy of Anacostia BID, will pick up at the Maritime Plaza parking lot. It is a beautiful 15 min walk across the river from Maritime Plaza to the Festival site (walking route indicated on the map in blue from point “A” to point “B”)
If you park at the Anacostia Metro parking garage, please consider the short walk to the Festival site (approx. 7 min) OR a free shuttle is available from the Anacostia Metro Station near the Howard Road exit.

Free bike valet available at the Festival!
Capital Bike Share stations are close by at the Anacostia Metro Station.
