Spray parks, children’s pools and outdoor pools will be open

(Washington, DC) – Today, the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced the 2015 Independence Day holiday schedule. All DPR summer camps, recreation/community centers, indoor aquatic centers and administrative offices are closed for the holiday.
Outdoor aquatic centers and children’s pools will operate from 12 noon – 6 pm on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4. Spray parks will operate on their normal schedule.
Playgrounds are closed on July 3, but will reopen on July 4th and close at 6 pm.
Tennis Courts will close on July 3 and will reopen on July 6.
Palisades Community Center (5200 Sherrier Pl., NW) will be open for the annual Palisades 4th of July parade.
DPR PERMITS, FIELDS AND COURTS:
– Please note that fireworks are NOT allowed on ANY DPR properties, fields, basketball courts or tennis courts.
– All synthetic fields are closed on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4
– All events that have existing permits will remain available for the permit holders.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT FIREWORKS ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED ON ALL DPR PROPERTIES. IT IS ILLEGAL TO USE FIREWORKS ON ANY AND ALL DPR PROPERTY, INCLUDING FIELDS, COURTS, PLAYGROUNDS, ETC.
