The NSO performs its annual free Labor Day weekend concert, this year featuring patriotic favorites like Battle Hymn of the Republic and America the Beautiful, a selection of Aaron Copland classics including Fanfare for the Common Man and Variations on a Shaker Melody, American Songbook standards ranging from “I’ll See You in My Dreams” to “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea,” folk hits like Bob Dylan’s “My Back Pages” and Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land,” and much more.
Performance Timing: Approximately 90 minutes.
NOTE: In case of inclement weather, please call the National Symphony Orchestra’s Summer Concert Hotline at (202) 416-8114 after 2:30 p.m. on the day of the concert to find out whether the performance will take place at The Capitol, or whether it will move indoors to the Kennedy Center Concert Hall. If the concert moves indoors, there will be NO open rehearsal.
