(Washington, D.C.) – The U.S. Secret Service is working closely with our state, local and federal law enforcement partners in planning for and conducting motorcade movements and security zones for the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit on 3/27/16 – 4/2/16 in Washington, D.C.
Although we do not control scheduled events, we always strive to limit the impact on pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic to make street and highway closures as brief as possible. Despite our best efforts, there are occasions where we cause inconveniences to the public due to necessary security measures. When these situations occur, we do our utmost to make them the shortest duration possible.
Maps of street closures for the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit are now available on the U.S. Secret Service public website in the Press Release section at:

Transportation and Traffic Restrictions for the 2016 Nuclear Security Summit
Convention Center
New York Ave NW, East and West bound from 6th St. NW to 11th St. NW – No vehicular access for the duration of the Summit, limited pedestrian traffic (residents and employees of local businesses) and no residential or metered parking continued to 14th St. NW.
Mass. Ave NW, East and West bound from 6th St. NW to 9th St. NW – Limited vehicular access for the duration of the Summit, limited pedestrian traffic (residents and employees of local businesses) and no residential or metered parking continued to 13th St. NW.
N St. NW, East and West bound from 6th St. NW to 10th St. NW – No vehicular access for the duration of the Summit, limited pedestrian traffic (residents and employees of local businesses) and no residential or metered parking continued to 12th St NW.
K St. NW, East and West bound from 6th St. NW to 10th St. NW – No vehicular access for the duration of the Summit, limited pedestrian traffic (residents and employees of local businesses) and no residential or metered parking. Traffic will be allowed to run on K St. NW from 7th St NW to 9th St NW and will be diverted South on those two streets.
L St. NW, East and West bound from 6th St. NW to 10th St. NW – No vehicular access for the duration of the Summit, limited pedestrian traffic (residents and employees of local businesses) and no residential or metered parking continued to 12th St NW.
M St. NW, East and West bound from 6th St. NW to 10th St. NW – No vehicular access for the duration of the Summit, limited pedestrian traffic (residents and employees of local businesses) and no residential or metered parking.
7th St. NW, North and South bound from O St. NW to Mass Ave. NW – No vehicular access for the duration of the Summit, limited pedestrian traffic (residents and employees of local businesses) and no residential or metered parking.
8th St. NW, North and South bound from O St. NW to N St. NW – No vehicular access for the duration of the Summit (local access only), limited pedestrian traffic (residents and employees of local businesses) and no residential or metered parking.
9th St. NW, North and South bound from O St. NW to New York Ave. – No vehicular access for the duration of the Summit, limited pedestrian traffic (residents and employees of local businesses) and no residential or metered parking continued to H St. NW.
10th St. NW, North and South bound from L St. NW to New York Ave. NW – No vehicular access for the duration of the Summit, limited pedestrian traffic (residents and employees of local businesses) and no residential or metered parking continued north to N St. NW.
11th St. NW, North and South bound from L St. NW to K St. NW and H St. NW to I St. NW – No residential or metered parking.
12th St. NW, North and South bound from K St. NW to Mass Ave. NW and H St. NW to I St. NW – No residential or metered parking.
13th St. NW at intersection with Mass Ave. NW and 13th St. NW North and South bound from H St. NW to I St. NW – No residential or metered parking.
14th St. NW at intersection with New York Ave. NW – No residential or metered parking.
The intersection of 12th St. NW and New York Ave. NW, North and South bound will be shut down intermittently.
The intersection of 13th St. NW and New York Ave. NW, North and South bound will be shut down intermittently.
The intersection of 14th St. NW and New York Ave. NW, North and South bound will be shut down intermittently.
White House
17th St. NW, Right North bound lane from Constitution Ave NW to Pennsylvania Ave NW – No residential or metered parking.
15th St. NW, South bound bike lane from Pennsylvania Ave NW to 14th St NW – No residential or metered parking.
State Department
C St. NW, North and South bound from 20th St. 21st St. NW – No residential or metered parking.
22nd St. NW, North and South bound from Constitution Ave. NW to C St. NW – No residential or metered parking.
Hotels
There will be intermittent street closures around several unnamed hotels throughout the Washington Metropolitan Area. DC Metro
DC Metro
DC Metro Train Stops-The Yellow and Green Line Trains will not stop at the Washington Convention Center. No other Metro stops will be affected by the Nuclear Security Summit.
DC Metro Bus Stops- 7th and 9th NW Street Bus Stops between N St. And K St. will be diverted around the Washington Convention Center.
