NoMa Summer Screen is a free, 13-week outdoor film series in NoMa, Washington, D.C.’s most connected neighborhood. Every Wednesday from June 1 to August 24, bring your friends, family and neighbors for music, giveaways, food trucks, picnicking, and of course, great films under the stars.
Movies start at sunset and are screened with subtitles. We encourage moviegoers to bring chairs, because this year’s location will be on asphalt. Bring blankets, frisbees, and picnic coolers when the doors open at 7 PM. NoMa Summer Screen has been ranked one of the Top 10 Best Outdoor Movie Theatres in America by Travel and Leisure Magazine and one of the top five outdoor movie series in the country by Travel Pulse.
Follow us on Twiiter, Facebook and Instagram for weather updates, giveaways, weekly activities, and information on food vendors.

Q: What’s the best way to get to the new site?
A: NoMa Junction @ Storey Park is located at 1005 First Street, NE, at the corner of First and L Streets, NE. We recommend taking the Metro to the NoMa-Gallaudet U station on the red line. The Union Station Metro is also just a few blocks away. There are also several Capital Bikeshare stations located within walking distance. Please note that street parking is very limited and luck of the draw. We encourage you to take public transportation, bike, or walk if at all possible.
Q: Can I bring my own chair?
A: Yes, please do! NoMa Junction @ Storey Park is an asphalt lot, so we highly encourage moviegoers to bring low chairs, or blankets and cushions. It’s hard to enjoy a movie if your butt is asleep.
Q: Can I bring my own picnic, or do I have to buy from the food trucks at the event?
A: Please bring anything scrumptious that you’d like! All we ask is that you put any trash in the waste/recycling bins before you leave.
Q: Can I bring my own beverages?
A: Coolers are allowed, but we reserve the right to escort you off the site if you get too rowdy.
Q: What time does the movie start?
A: Gates open at 7 PM, and the movie starts at sunset. This varies depending on the month, but is typically around 8:30 PM.
Q: What if it rains, or the weather forecast is ominous?
A: We closely monitor the weather on Wednesdays. If there is a 100% chance of rain we will announce the event is canceled at 6 PM. Anything lower than 80% we will wait out in the hopes it blows over. If we decide to cancel, we will immediately post to our Twitter and Facebook pages, as well as updating this webpage with an alert. We appreciate any rain dances and finger crossing the day of to help prevent storms.
