Halloween is just around the corner, but Capitol Hill residents know it better as Hilloween! Hilloween, a street party with fun activities for all ages, will take place on Friday, October 28 from 5:30-7:30pm at Eastern Market. The 200 and 300 blocks of 7th Street, SE are closed to traffic, from N. Carolina to Penn Ave.
Local schools, organizations, and businesses are a part of the celebration, with hay rides, moon bounces, giveaways for kids, face painting, firefighting and construction truck touch, and food/drink specials. Everything is free (except for the food and drinks) so come out and enjoy the costumes and high spirits. See you there!
It’s a beautiful day in the Capitol Hill neighborhood! I have an idea – let’s have a big street party tonight from 5:30 – 7:30 in front of Eastern Market! We’ll get some hay rides together, some face painters, some schools/businesses/orgs to hand out candy and stuff, maybe a couple of enormous blowup obstacle courses. You all can just come and enjoy, though you may want to bring some cash for pizza, hot dogs, drinks, and school sales.
