Over 35 Embassies Were Represented, Showcasing Their Culture and Traditions at the Reagan Building
WASHINGTON, Dec. 9, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — On Wednesday, December 7, the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center (RRB/ITC) hosted the 5th annual embassy showcase, Winternational. Thirty seven embassies and over 3,000 visitors participated in the lively midday celebration of international culture, travel, and tourism.
“As the World Trade Center, Washington DC our Winternational event offers a one of a kind experience where participants can travel the world—and mingle with Ambassadors and diplomats to learn about different cultures and traditions. These types of events further support our mission of bringing together and engaging the international and DC community,” said John P. Drew, President and CEO of Trade Center Management Associates, the group that manages the RRB/ITC.
The participating embassies included Afghanistan, African Union Mission, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Botswana, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Egypt, European Union Delegation, Ghana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Hungary, Indonesia, Kenya, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Libya, Mozambique, Nepal, Oman, Panama, Philippines, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, St. Kitts & Nevis, Tunisia, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, Uruguay and Uzbekistan.
Each embassy promoted their country through vibrant displays of cultural significance, including art, handmade crafts, food, teas and coffees. Items were available for purchase and attendees were treated to music by renowned violinist Rafael Javadov. Event sponsors included Trade Center Management Associates, The British School of Washington, The Washington Diplomat, and Washington Life Magazine.
