Taste of DC (www.TheTasteofDC.org), DC’s largest food festival, returns to the District on Columbus Day weekend Saturday, October 7 and Sunday October 8, 2017 at The Festival Grounds at RFK Stadium. The Mid-Atlantic’s largest culinary festival, established in 1989, will bring two days of the region’s very best food, drink and entertainment.
Attendees will be able to sample from more than 65 of the region’s most popular restaurants at Taste of DC’s Restaurant Row, try more than 50 wines on the Taste of DC Wine Walk, experience the Oktoberfest Bier Garten and enjoy nonstop entertainment on three different stages. Cooking demonstrations on the ABW Culinary Stage will feature regional chefs.
The area’s largest Oktoberfest celebration will take over an entire section of the festival grounds. This interactive celebration will bring the Munich Oktoberfest feel to life, offering Oompa and polka bands, dancers, commemorative beer steins, German beers and authentic fare like schnitzel, bratwurst and pretzels.
Another new attraction will be a Kids Zone with activities and cooking demonstrations for future foodies making the event even more family-friendly.
The ultimate tailgate party, The Chili Cook-off at Taste of DC, will feature chili, beer and barbeque and specialty programming. On Saturday, October 7 the 7th Annual Ben’s Chili Bowl’s World Chili Eating Championship will bring some of the country’s best competitive eaters back to this exclusive-to-DC World Champion event. The competition takes place Saturday at 3 p.m. on the Taste of DC Main Stage. On Sunday, October 8, a competitive celebrity chef and amateur cook-off will take place to crown DC’s Chili Master.
