About Dr. Tran: Mai Khanh first came to the US as a refugee from Vietnam at nine years old. She worked as a fieldworker in high school, and earned acceptance to Harvard. Because her family couldn’t afford tuition, she worked her way through Harvard as a janitor. She eventually went on to medical school at Dartmouth-Brown, and has been a practicing pediatrician in Orange County for the past 25 years. In her personal life, Mai Khanh has encountered every challenge that’s been thrown her way. She survived breast cancer twice, and was blessed to become a mother in her forties.
