LAST SCREENING OF “MẸ VẮNG NHÀ” IN WASHINGTON, DC
After 3 months of worldwide screenings, Me Vắng Nhà has been to 46 cities, and was presented to at least 10,000 people from all different ages and backgrounds. This journey has allowed us to connect with Vietnamese communities around the world, share our story and listen to theirs. Though we treasure every moment of this tour, it is time for us to close this chapter, in preparation for future projects.
Please join us at the last screening of the documentary, at the heart of freedom, in Washington, DC. To further signify the call for Mother Mushroom’s freedom, we chose to do it on October 10th, the date of her arrest 2 years ago.
It is our honor to have the support of Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren and her wonderful staff. VOICE is very thankful to Zoe Lofgren Office for hosting the screening.

Me Vang Nha is a documentary about the family of Mother Mushroom after she was imprisoned. It follows the lives of those who are left behind – two children, a mom, and a bedridden grandmother. It shows their daily activities, moments when they laughed, and moments when they cried.
Me Vang Nha was directed by Clay Pham, and produced by VOICE.
The film is 41 mins long, in Vietnamese with English subtitle.
