Friday, October 25, Capitol Riverfront BID kicks off the ultimate World Series weekend with a pregame celebration in Yards Park and a giant-screen Watch Party, featuring live music, a live marching band, lawn games, glitter face paint, a bar setup with beer and wine, and a viewing of the baseball game.

In honor of the 2019 World Series, Navy Yard’s Bluejacket will tap a brand-new double IPA for the occasion: 86 Years! A reference to how long it’s been since a Washington baseball team has made it to the World Series, 86 Years is a hazy double IPA double dry-hopped with Galaxy – it’s a juicy fruit bomb of a brew that shows intense notes of passionfruit, peach and orange, and it goes on draft Tuesday (10/22) in time for Game 1. They’re currently canning 86 Years with a commemorative World Series label (attached for reference) and will release cans for sale on October 25th in time for Game 3, PLUS they’ll have the following food + beer specials available during watch parties for all away games:

Historic Georgetown staple Martin’s Tavern opened in 1933 the last time there was a World Series in DC, and in honor of the Nationals heading to the World Series for their first time in franchise history they’re bringing back a classic dish circa their 1933 menu – Chicken a la King – originally for just $0.85.
