The Lion Dance: Tai Yim Kung Fu School has been performing traditional lion dances for over 40 years in the Washington area to celebrate special events such as Chinese New Year, weddings, business openings, and sometimes to rid a business or home of mischievous spirits. Lions also play an important role in Chinese mythology: they represent joy and happiness. Lion dances are performed accompanied by the music of beating of a drum, cymbals, and gong all synchronized to the lion’s movements and actions.
The Concert Chorale of Washington: Founded in 2017, the Concert Chorale of Washington (CCW) is a community-based choral ensemble with a passion for exploring different music genres and repertoires across cultures and times.
