When Looking for Hotels in NoMa, Downtown Washington, DC’s Hip New Neighborhood, Look No Further than the Area’s Newest Hotel
Less than a year old, the Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol is touted by many as the hip place for people who want to stay in the center of it all as the area continues to grow. WASHINGTON, D.C. (PRWEB) March 12, 2015
North of Massachusetts Avenue (NoMa), a growing neighborhood in downtown Washington, DC just blocks north of the US Capitol Building, is quickly becoming the place to live, work and stay while on travel. Less than a year old, the Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol is touted by many as the hip place for people who want to stay in the center of it all as the area continues to grow. Just last month The NoMa Parks Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed in 2012 to establish welcoming, sustainable, beautiful spaces where people can play, refresh and connect in NoMa, unveiled its website to promote the area and its initiatives.
“The neighborhood has truly taken a liking to our hotel and everything we represent,” said Stacy Smith, the hotel’s General Manager. The hotel is one of over 100 hotels managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, including 16 hotels in the Washington, DC area. Smith credits the hotel being embraced by the community to the fact that the area is very eclectic and so is Hyatt Place, one of the newer Hyatt brands.
“We pride ourselves on taking on the vibe of NoMa, our new home” said Smith. “Like the area, we are fresh and new. We are casual, yet sophisticated and located in the middle of everything. Many of our guests who have been to Washington, DC before tell us it’s a great way to see everything our city has to offer – and to see it like a local.” The hotel is just two blocks from the NoMa-Gallaudet U (New York Ave) Metro Station, and just one stop from Union Station, the city’s home to Amtrak.
On the second floor, adjacent to the fitness center, is the seasonal outdoor pool where guests can unwind after a long day of work or play. The hotel not only offers valet parking, but in a city where parking is at a premium, it also offers packages that include parking in the rate.
The boutique tailoring of the hotel continues in the food and beverage selections of which guests can choose. Breakfast is complimentary for all overnight guests and includes a variety of breakfast sandwiches, fresh fruits, oatmeal and more. The hotel also offers a bar as well as hand-drawn espresso drinks. Menu items include specialty flatbreads, hot panni sandwiches, gourmet pizza and a changing variety of soups and fresh salads. “Because our clientele is so varied, and coming in from around the world from different time zones, we offer our menu 24 hours a day,” said Smith.
Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol is also just north of the Smithsonian Institution, the White House, and Washington, D.C. Convention Center. Additionally, the hotel is less than six miles from Georgetown and the National Cathedral. Smith added, “We are no not only proud of our hotel, but also of the positive economic impact it is having on the community, offering newly created jobs along with additional tax revenues.”
"With the destination appeal of the nation’s capital paired with a strong brand, Hyatt Place Washington DC/US Capitol has quickly become a premier location to accommodate business and leisure travelers visiting Washington, D.C.,” said Michael George, Chief Executive Officer and President of Crescent Hotels & Resorts.
