For the first time, this Veterans Day weekend, as part of its annual Veterans Day commemoration, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) is pleased to offer family-friendly tours of The Wall on Friday, November 11 and Saturday the 12th.
This unique experience will allow your family to learn from veterans about why it’s important to commemorate Veterans Day and honor those who have served.
You can register for family tours on the 11th or the 12th of November:
RSVP for November 11th (2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm)
RSVP for November 12th (10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm)
Tours will include:
• Age appropriate explanation of Veterans Day and The Wall
• Learning how to look up a name and even finding out if there is anyone with the same name or birthday on The Wall
• Seeing a photo of one or more service members on The Wall, and learning more about them
• Learning how to do a name rubbing
Take this opportunity to come down to the National Mall and learn from veterans about why it’s important to commemorate Veterans Day and honor those who have served. This unique experience will allow your child to build a connection with a service member on The Wall. Make this Veterans Day count and bring your entire family down to the National Mall!
