The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) will host a Candlelight Remembrance at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial (The Wall) to remember Senator John McCain on Friday, August 31, 2018.
The remembrance will begin at 7:30 p.m. and end with the playing of taps at 8:30 p.m. This is an opportunity for veterans and visitors to honor Senator McCain at the place our nation has set aside for Vietnam veterans.
Attendees will gather at the flagpole by the Three Servicemen Statue, get a candle and proceed individually to The Wall. Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the Candlelight Remembrance at The Wall. Cameras welcome.
The event is free and open to all who wish to attend.
The public is also encouraged to leave messages for the late Senator at: https://act.vvmf.org/page/s/remembering-john-mccain
The messages will be left at The Wall as part the Candlelight Remembrance.
VVMF asks the public to refrain from bringing their own candles. Candles will be provided free of charge.
